Shop fresh foods that are season, they tend to be the best prices and have robust flavors! Melon, berries and peaches in the summer. Apples, corn and squash in the fall. Strawberries in the spring.


Don't forget about cooking with beans, they are packed with fiber and protein and you get the most bang for your buck as they are very inexpensive. Make a pot of bean soup!
